He is now an independent technology consultant, writer and podcaster. He is the author of Dot Bomb: The Rise and Fall of Dot Com Britain (2001), Always On: Hope and Fear in the Social Smartphone Era (2021), and Ruskin Park: Sylvia, Me and the BBC.
