Julian Felice is Gibraltar’s first ever internationally published playwright. He has had four plays published in the United States by Eldridge Plays: Mary Jane of Whitechapel, Challenger: To Touch the Face of God, The Amazing Angel-Man and PopStar. These have all been performed by schools and youth drama groups across the USA. He has also had a collection of plays published locally as Three Gibraltar Plays. Two of Julian’s plays have been performed at professional theatres in London, with a third due in March 2020. Julian has won Best Original Play at the Gibraltar Drama Festival on five occasions and last year received a Governor’s Coin in recognition of his achievements in playwriting. He has also spoken about his work at various academic conferences.
Julian is currently Head of Drama at Bayside Comprehensive School and is the director of Bayside & Westside Drama Group. He has both directed and acted in a large number of theatre productions, both in Gibraltar and in the United Kingdom. He is a panelist on the GBC current affairs programme City Pulse and is the director and presenter of GibTalks, an annual one-day conference of talks organised by Gibraltar Cultural Services. He has written for a number of local newspapers and magazines, and was a Staff Writer for Ramblin’ Fan, a website dedicated to the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams.
