Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Joseph Garcia, is a historian and politician. He is leader of the Liberal Party of Gibraltar and Deputy Chief Minister of HM Government of Gibraltar. Dr Garcia has a BA (hons) in history from the University of Hull and a PhD on the Modern Political and Constitutional Development of Gibraltar. He is the author of “Gibraltar: The making of a People – The Modern Political and Constitutional Development of Gibraltar 1940-1988”
Dr Garcia is Deputy Chief Minister, Minister for European Affairs and for BREXIT work related to the United Kingdom’s departure from the European Union, International political lobbying, Gibraltar representative offices abroad, Lands and Government Projects, Civil Aviation and Information.
He is member of the Select Committees on Parliamentary Reform, BREXIT (work related to the UK and Gibraltar’s departure from the European Union) and Constitutional Reform.
The Hon Dr Joseph Garcia MP, Deputy Chief Minister of Her Majesty’s Government of Gibraltar will be speaking at the Gibunco Gibraltar International Literary Festival 2017. Dr Garcia will be talking about the 1967 Referendum and the talk will take place at the Garrison Library on Saturday 18 November at 6.00pm. All those attending will receive a free copy of a book to commemorate the 1967 Referendum.
