Lesley Adkins is a historian, archaeologist and author of eighteen widely acclaimed books on social history, military and naval history, ancient Greece and Rome, archaeology and Egyptology. Her books have so far been translated into sixteen languages worldwide. They include Eavesdropping on Jane Austen’s England, Jack Tar, The War for All the Oceans, Empires of the Plain and The Keys of Egypt. Her latest book is Gibraltar: The Greatest Siege in British History.
