Gwenan Edwards

Gwenan Edwards is a journalist and television presenter. She trained as a musician, playing the piano and flute, and is a fluent Welsh speaker. Gwenan trained as a print journalist before moving to co-anchor the BBC's flagship regional news programme for London. She went on to present for BBC World - covering international stories and fronting the channel's weekly travel programme. In 2000, she joined the BBC's 24 hour News Channel - covering major stories - both nationally and internationally. She has reported from Africa, India, the Middle East, the US and much of Europe. Gwenan has also reported and presented for a series of consumer programmes on ITV and BBC, including Watchdog.

As a trained classical musician, Gwenan has presented for 3 series of BBC2's Proms[3] and for BBC2's Cardiff Singer of the World competition. She has made a film with the cellist, Julian Lloyd Webber and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment - looking at the complexities of how musicians travel with their instruments around the world. She is a voting member of Bafta (the British Academy of Film and Television Arts).

Gwenan will be interviewing many of our speakers as part of their events.
