David Bentata

Born in Gibraltar in 1946, David attended the local Hebrew School and Grammar School and then, at age fifteen, went straight into the family business. He left the family business in 2004 and went out on his own, moving into the jewellery sector in 2005, opening a shop and designing his own range of jewellery.

David published his first book, ‘Death a la carte’ in 2003, which was based on a series of short stories.

He then moved onto poetry, which he has focused on since.  David has had poems published in Spain in 1997 and 1998 and in the United States in 2015 and this year.  He has also held recitals of his own poems in Gibraltar, La Linea, Sotogrande and Jerez.

David has also produced two CD’s with Denis Valerga from his poems.  These are titled ‘DANAE – Canciones de Amor’ and ‘No More Mr. Nice Guy’.
