"The International Literary Festival (Gibunco) gives me the opportunity to present my novel "The Last Trip of Jules Verne" and to expose my cultural concept of these moments in Gibraltar and the importance that this event has at the highest level. I believe that the occasion requires it and it will be extraordinary to promote literary, sociological and twinning links among the peoples of the entire Campo de Gibraltar region. I want to talk about a modern and dynamic Gibraltar, how it is presented to society in 2018, as well as the feeling lived for so many years linked to the city; of the reception and citizen response, I want to talk about a town with its own identity and a unique personality, the peculiarity of Llanito, the fruit of a multicultural mixture that makes it different. It is necessary to raise awareness among political and educational authorities so that new generations can learn English and Spanish. Likewise, Shakespeare must be studied as well as Cervantes, Charles Dickens. Federico García Lorca, Antonio Machado, and contemporaries such as J.K. Rowling, Douglas Dunn or James Fenton. In short, encourage reading because culture should be the best tool for peace among peoples"
