Oxenberg will present highlights from her latest book, the award-winning Dynasty - A True Story, alongside fabled historian and friend Hugo Vickers. Over the course of 60 minutes using book excerpts, oral history and a visual slideshow, Oxenberg explores her singular family heritage, root-ed in Tsarist Russia and traveling centuries throughout Serbian monarchy to, ultimately, the New World of America. As Oxenberg weaves her oral presentation with Vickers’ captivating visuals (including some never-before-seen photographs), the journey creates a bridge of cultures, knit-ting them together in a truly-and true-epic tale. Having been translated into seven languages since its release, Dynasty - A True Story was hon-ored by the Serbian Academy of Science & Arts in 2016.
Oxenberg hopes this book will not only reveal a country most people never think of, albeit of mighty importance to Serbs, there is the greater hope that such a book will encourage readers to research their own pasts. Everyone has a story to tell and Oxenberg hopes her work will be a muse for others.
The talk will allow for 15 minutes for questions and answers from the audience followed by a book signing where anyone interested can meet and chat with the author.
